Caffélatex Tubeless Kit

To take full advantage of Caffélatex sealant, we created complete kits, to convert standard bicycle wheels into tubeless. Intended for Tubeless and Tubeless-Ready mountain bike and road tyres.

  • complete tubeless conversion kit
  • eco-friendly: its packaging is a Portatutto tool bottle!

Why we created it:

to take full advantage of Caffélatex sealant, we created complete kits, to convert standard bicycle wheels into tubeless (2 wheels per kit).

What it will convert:

Caffélatex Tubeless Kit is intended for Tubeless and Tubeless-Ready mountain bike tyres, applying one layer of tape (two across the valve hole).
WARNING: the use of Caffélatex Tubeless Conversion Kit with standard mountain bike tube-type tyres is done under the user’s sole responsibility and the inflation with these tyres might be difficult, due to Caffélatex Tubeless Tape reduced thickness.

Standard road wheels can also be converted to tubeless with Caffélatex Tubeless Kit, applying two layers of tape (three across the valve hole)
WARNING: on the road, due to the high inflating pressure, tubeless tyres are the only ones that will function (tube-type tyres will explode… either immediately after mounting them or during a ride, with the risk of serious injuries or death).

Caffélatex Tubeless Kit content:

  • 1 Portatutto tool bottle (as functional packaging)
  • 1 bottle of Caffélatex sealant, 250 ml, with measuring over-cap
  • 1 roll of Caffélatex Tubeless Tape (S, M or L version, depending on the kit)
  • 2 Caffélatex Tubeless Valves with conic adapters (for both Presta and Schrader-drilled rims) and a key for Presta mechanisms
  • instruction leaflet (click to open pdf version)

  • “S” Kit for rims with external section between 20 and 24 mm;
  • “M” Kit for rims with external section between 25 and 29 mm;
  • “L” Kit for rims with external section between 30 and 34 mm.

Made in Italy.

Tubeless conversion: the whole truth!

Those who ride occasionally (less than once a week), do not cross lands infested with thorns or – simply – do not want to face the small problems and complications that tubeless involves, can continue using inner tubes and be happy like that. In off-road riding, however, the transition to tubeless and the use of […] READ ALL

Caffélatex, valves and inner tubes

Being a synthetic latex, Caffélatex is not as intrinsically “sticky” as natural latex sealants, showing a lower tendency to clog valves and valve mechanisms. Still, it’s important to learn how to use it properly to take full advantage of the puncture protection, reducing the drawbacks to the minimum. General tips for long lasting valves, when […] READ ALL

Caffélatex and the “hair dryer” effect

Beside the use of CO2(described here) or contamination of your sealant with other products(described here), the “hair dryer” effect is a common but little-known reason for the decrease in a sealant lifespan. When does it happens? If a tubeless tyre doesn’t immediately inflate after having inserted the sealant, some people using a compressor might be […] READ ALL

Tyre sealants are a must-have for the performance-oriented cyclists, to avoid the feared and annoying punctures. The big question is: how much sealant do I need? Parameters that influence the necessary quantity of sealant: Several parameters should be taken into account, for example the outside humidity, temperature and tyre inflation routine/regularity. However, the main factors […] READ ALL

A Caffélatex cocktail

The most common reasons for polymerization of latex sealants (synthetic or natural) can be divided into two groups: physical (related to temperature changes, evaporation, etc.); chemical. Physical: a sudden temperature drop, e.g. when using CO2 cartridges, as described here; a quick evaporation, e.g. when the sealant comes out from a puncture in the tyre. In this case the […] READ ALL

Caffélatex and CO2

While Caffélatex resists well to both low and high temperatures (between -20 and 50°C), sudden temperature changes are not good for its stability. A strong thermal shock could be a polymerization-starter for any latex-based sealant (natural or synthetic), so we suggest to limit the use of CO2 cartridges or, if necessary, to do it with extra […] READ ALL

  1. Salve !
